People Science and the Healing Advocacy Fund have partnered to conduct observational research evaluating the real world outcomes and experiences of individuals suffering from alcoholism who are receiving Psilocybin Assisted Care within the State of Oregon Psilocybin Services Program.
The Healing Advocacy Fund (HAF) is a 501c3 non-profit organization that operates within this legalized state framework to enable individuals suffering from alcoholism to gain access to Psilocybin-Assisted Care at designated service centers. People Science is supporting HAF in their goals to educate stakeholders, policymakers, regulators, and the general public on the Oregon psilocybin program. As the research technology partner, People Science is providing the research platform to collect and analyze data from participants’ experiences through the course of their psilocybin-assisted care. This partnership ensures the delivery of best practices with research that will inform regulations and enable high quality, safe and accessible state psilocybin care.
Why is this work so important?
This partnership will help increase our understanding of the impact of the Oregon Psilocybin Services Program and the impact on real people’s mental health and lives in general.
*In 2020, Oregon voters approved a ballot measure (Measure 109) to create the world’s first state-regulated psilocybin program to improve the physical, mental, and social well-being of all people. The measure required that the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) create a licensing and regulatory framework for a safe, accessible and equitable program. After a two-year rule making period, licensed service centers are now open and providing psilocybin services to clients in Oregon.
